I am not feeling so good. Mommy took me to the V.E.T. and I have a fever of 103.7. So they did some blood tests, and my red blood cells are too few, but my reticulocytes (baby red blood cells,) are too many. I'm very tired...
Oh! Sorry, I must have dozed off.
They did some X-Rays.They said everything is where it is supposed to be. The V.E.T. gave me some fluids and lots of shots, and now I have to take something to make me eat, and some antibiotics at home. I don't like pills... I am so very sleepy...
Oops.
I have to go see a specialist on Monday, he's going to stick a needle in my bones, and take sound pictures of my belly. I don't think that will feel so good either....
Uh-Oh. I did it again.
I can't go up the stairs, I get tired after about 2 steps. Mommy carries me when I must go up... That's where my sleepy drum is, and TK and Pip are NOT! She stays with me, brings me food and water, and carries me back down when I am ready...
I'm going to rest now... could you send some purrs for my mommy, please; she looks very worried?

Femme Friday

Sammy and Andy's mama makes this hat for me! |
So I wanted to fill you in on the goings-on.
We spent the night in ourVan at our Auntie SheShe's house for New Year's Eve. It was very fun, and we proved that, even though it was very cold outside, we could stay nice and toasty-warm in ourVan.
Our daddy came and slept in ourVan too! It was very neat to have him with us, the whole fambily safe and warm- togefur.
TK does a funny thing when we are in ourVan and it is cold- he sleeps on mommy's head the whole night! Daddy Laff and Laff the next day because TK was on the whole pillow and mommy only had a tiny sliver to sleep on. Mommy sais she didn't mind because she likes when we are all togefur in a kitty cuddle-puddle. Then, instead of saying "I love you Tiny Kat," like usual, she sais "I love you Tiny Hat" for the whole next Day! We might need to change TK's nickname to TH...,
Anyway, we hopes everyone has a great weekend.
Don't forget that our dear furend Billy SweetFeets is hosting the Carnival of Cats this weekend!
Love, Squashies

Femme Friday
Hello Bloggie-Furends. I just wanted to stop by to let you know that we are all doing fine here. We sure hope you are all doing fine too!
Mommy has been working a lot on these three projects she has from works. So instead of helping us blog, she spends her spare time playing with us.
There is one other thing she has been working on. She is getting something special for all of us, but it's a surprise, so we'll be showing that in about 2 weeks.
So in other news, a week ago, mommy saw a doe on the side of the road that had been hit by a car. She was very sad because our doe and her fawn had not been by to eat bird corns, so she thinks it might have been OUR doe. But then yesterday, out of no where she and her little fawn, which has lost it's spots, came by for a snack. Mommy was so happy she started to cry. (And she cried so much she didn't take one picshur... not one!) It was a happy time. We likes when our mommy is happy!
So mommy tells me to tell you that we will still not be around fur about 2 more weeks, while she gets everything squared away. We misses you!

Femme Friday
Hello Bloggie Furends, it's Squashies, with my Femme Friday Post!
I'm sure everyone knows what a rough week it has been in the Cat Blogsphere. August 18, 2010 has been called "the day of tears". On that day we lost four blogging kitties. Luxor, Eric, Molly and Winnie.
To most of us freshmen bloggers these first two kitties are, simply put- Legends. They were part of a small group of pioneering kitties that, through their actions, defined our blogging world and taught many of us to explore our own thoughts and share them with others.
On January 2006 Eric made his debut from London. He was greeted by other Legends such as Abby, The Crew, Derby, Dolce, Little Cat Feet, Max, the Meezers, Oreo, Patches, Skeezix and others. His blog is a great read, if you want hours of entertainment, I highly recommend you read it- start to finish. It is a funny, witty, amazing chronicle of the life of Eric. Of course the end will break your heart.
As near as I can tell, Luxor came online in September 2006* He was greeted by Greats: Daisy, Derby, Eric and Flynn, Junior and Orion, Little Cat Feet, Max, the Meezers, Millie, Rosie and Cheeto, Skeezix, Speedy, William, and others. His blog is also a wonderful read. The photography is often stunning and the stories are a fun and well written tail of this whitest of cats. You should read it all, you won't be disappointed!
Molly's Alexi started blogging in February 2007. She was greeted by Chey, Daisy, KarenJo, the Meezers, Skeezix and a few others. This also a fun blog with interesting topics like cat shows and breeding. Definitely worth reading!
You might wonder why I mention the greeters of these kitties. The truth is that I think of them as a big family. They have all been friends for a very long time. Together they have laughed, teased, celebrated, taught, learned, helped each other through difficult times; and they have mourned as a family.
I am fairly new to the bloggy world, and I have cried, hard, for these kitties. I can only imagine how I would feel if we had grown up together.
So for all of you that have paved the way for all of us- we are sorry for your loss, and we purr for your comfort.
My mommy is researching the history of the CB and the "Legends of the Blog", but it is very tricky stuff, and she doesn't have a lot of time to devote to it right now. If you would like to help please let us know!
*There are some earlier posts, but they were not content, Luxor may have ported from another venue.

Femme Friday
Hello Blog Furends, it's me- Squashies with my Femme Friday Post!
I has decided to use the picshur that Sammy and Andy's mommy makes as my permenant Fem-Friday reporter head shot.
Speaking of Sammy and Andy- today is Andy's 10th Birthday- so if you haven't already, swing by and say hi to him.
It has been a hard week on kitties this week, as you probably know Chey and Sniffie both had surgery yesterday. We are purring that they will feel better real soon.
It's a bit rainy here today so I didn't go out on the deck this morning. TK, however was undaunted and ran out to get in his lawn. Silly boy... Eatting grass in the rain.
Other than that- we are looking forward to a quiet weekend. We hope you all have a wonderful time!

Femme Friday
Hello Blog Friends, it's me Squashies, with my Femme Friday Post!
It has been a very slow week here at the house, cause mommy has been doing fambily stuff with her daddy for two days. She says a very speshul man, who helped take care of her daddy when his mommy died, went to the bridge. She seemed very sad.
Rest in Peace, Cousin Jim.
We sure miss mommy when she is not here. But daddy has been taking good care of us. (and he gives us more treats than mommy does!)So we got a very speshul thing in our email the other day. It seems that Sammy and Andy's mama made a beautiful hat just for me! I think I look fabulous. I don't know how she makes a hat for me without even measuring, but as you can see it fits purrfectly. I think I shall never take it off! Thank you Mamabug. You are incredibly talented to make hats for all the girl kitties, and very sweet to think of me.
That's all I have for now, sweet friends. We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Femme Friday
Hello Blog Friends, it's me Squashies here with my Femme Friday post.
For the last 4 days mommy has been sitting me on her lap and shoving pills in my mouth. Neither one of was happy about this turn of events. I tried to be a good-girl, but it was really hard.
So anyway, yesterday was my last pill so we are all very relieved.
This week TK only ate my food twice. But once he ate it all before mommy noticed. I don't mind too much, I know his diet is very hard on him, and mommy gave me some new food to eat.
In other news, I have been taking antibiotics for a month now for a little infection. Usually the medicine comes in a liquid that mommy would have to squirt down my throat. When it comes to forcing us to do things we don't like, I think mommy is more unhappy than we are, so Dr. Segal said we could try pill-pockets. She chopped human pills into EIGHTHS. Can you imagine? They were very small pieces. She's a very special doctor!
For three weeks everything went well. Mommy called the pockets my "before-dinner-treat", and I didn't mind even though I knew it was medicine. The pill-pockets are salmon flavor and very yummy, so I let her get away with it. Then on Monday, when I was eating my "Treat", something went wrong and the pill-pocket got stuck on the roof of my mouth. I was very scared. There was much drooling, scratching, and meowing. Mommy finally helped me get it unstuck and it ended okay. But after that I will not eat those pill-pockets ever again.

In other news- remember the hungry deer mommy that was eating daddy's bird seeds? Well as I was writting my post, she brought her fawns to the feeder for the first time! Here are some pictures mommy took.
That's all I have for this week friends. We all hope you have a great weekend!
Love, Squashies.

Femme Friday
Hello Bloggy Friends, it is me, Squashies with my Femme Friday post.
We still start our day, after breakfast, on the deck. I like this time the best. When mommy gets done washing the bird bath and watering the plants and TK's lawn, I sit on her lap, or crawl on her shoulders while she takes her tea and reads for a bit. This morning I did a little accident. I didn't mean to, but you see, this bird landed on the railing... I got so excited I put my claws into mommy in my haste to get it. She says she is ok, but I never made her bleed before, and I feel bad.
So in other news-TK has been doing a lot better about trying to eat my dinner, and only did it half-heartedly 3 times this week. He really loves when mommy says he is a good boy. I sure hope he gets it right all the time, because we both get treats when he is good. Mommy says I'm always good, so I shouldn't be punished by not getting treats just because I never do bad stuff. I think this is a good way to think!
This is a long holiday weekend here in the US, and mommy says this means that she and daddy will go visiting on Sunday. She promises to be back in time for our medicine, so I guess we will let them go.
That's all the news.
Thanks for being patient with us while mommy gets her work done and have a happy and safe holiday weekend everykitty!

Femme Friday
Sweet Praline says we can have a "Femme Friday" for us ladycats. Because this is my first lady post I thought I would show you "Grrl Time" with mommy and me. This is when mommy and I go in the "Grrl Time" room and we fixes ourselves so we look nice for all the fellows. Sometimes I take a bath, but mostly I snoopervise mommy's efforts.
I sit here on the cool marble counter, while mommy givers her furs, face and teefies a brushing. She has many different brushes to use, so sometimes it takes awhile.
I think you missed a spot in your painting mommy!
Once mommy is done brushing herself, I get "Mack time". That's when I walk back and forth along the edge of the counter, and say "MAAACCCCK" really loudly so she remembers that I need brushings too. I never stand or sit still when being brushed, I have to pace so mommy has to chase me. It is wonderful fun.
When we are done, mommy picks me up, which I used to be ascairt of, and puts me on the floor. She makes sure she doesn't let go of me until all my feet are touching.
We loves our Grrl Time together!
